The three-body connection forged steel fixed ball valve divides the body into three parts along the cross section perpendicular to the axis of the valve passage at the two seat positions. The whole high-pressure forged steel fixed ball valve is symmetrical along the central axis of the valve stem. The valve seat adopts spring structure, pushing the valve seat toward the sphere to ensure good low pressure sealing performance. Ball of forged steel fixed ball valve is fixed, it does not move with medium pressure. Forged steel fixed ball valve has floating seats. When the o ring of stem or the body seat ring is damaged due to accident, the medium leakage between body and stem can be prevented by injecting the sealant through the device.
Double block and bleed
Forged steel fixed ball valve features the front ball sealing design structure. Each seat of the ball valve can separately cut off the medium at both upstream and downstream to achieve double block function. When the ball valve is closed, body cavity is segregated from both upstream and downstream even there is pressure at both ends. The medium left in the body cavity could increase the pressure to propel the seats. The medium could be bled out through the relief valve to ensure valve safety.
Anti-static design
Except for the anti-static features floating ball valve has, the forged steel fixed ball valve has more. The ball of the forged steel fixed ball valve gets close contact with each other through the trunnion, adjusting cushion, and down-end cap, the passage of static electricity thus forms together with the valve, which may lead the static electricity caused by sparks generated by friction between the ball and seat during on and off performance to the ground to prevent the possible risk of fire or explosion.
Fire safe design
With the valve heated in a fire application, the nonmetal material parts such as seat sealing ring of ptfe,o ring for the stem, and sealing gasket for body and bonnet, might be damaged due to high temperature. Crv's special design of auxiliary metal to metal or the graphite seal is designed for the forged steel fixed ball valve to effectively prevent both internal and external leakage of the valve in case of fire.
If forged steel fixed ball valves in the original system are heavily maintained, the sealing performance of the stuffing boxes as well as the parts such as joints are supposed to be checked carefully. In order to make sure that forged steel fixed ball valves can be operated normally and the pipeline system can run smoothly, whether the information on the data plates of forged steel fixed ball valves is in consistent with the design requirements should be checked first before the new forged steel fixed ball valves are operated and installed.
Besides these, the following aspects of forged steel fixed ball valves are also supposed to be paid attention to.
The pipelines connected with two ends of forged steel fixed ball valves are supposed to be prepared well, and be made concentric. Two flange sealing surfaces should be parallel. Pipelines should bear the weight of the ball valve, or else appropriate support devices must be equipped on the pipelines. Blow and clean the pipelines connected with two ends of the forged steel fixed ball valve. Remove the oil contamination, welding slag and all other impurities inside pipelines. Check the marks of ball valves, and whether the ball valve is intact. Opening and closing the ball valves for several times to make sure they work normally.
Remove protectors on the flanges which connect both ends of ball valves. Check the potential dirt probably left in the valve opening and then clean the valve opening. Even just little particles between valve seats and balls may damage the sealing surface of valve seats. Install the forged steel valve on the pipeline, and both ends of the valve can be installed on the upstream end. Valves driven by the hand shank can be installed on any position of pipelines. But ball valves with gearboxes or pneumatic actuators should be installed straight, that is, being installed on horizontal pipelines, and driving device should be installed above pipelines.
According to the design requirements of pipelines, it is demanded to install gaskets between valve flange and pipeline flange. Bolts on the flange need to be symmetrically, successively and evenly tightened. Open and close the ball valves for several times to check whether the ball valves can be operated flexibly, smoothly and normally. According to the design requirements of pipelines, check the sealing performance of flange joint face between pipelines and ball valves.
